Students at Juniper Ridge Intermediate in Torbay got a special treat today after learning about Canadian music icon Corey Hart.
Not only did they get a surprise visit from Hart, they also received a donation of $10,000 worth of instruments and a pile of free tickets for his St. John’s show.
Hart teamed up with the MusiCounts Band Aid Program, which provides up to $15,000 worth of musical instruments and equipment to schools across the country, to give Juniper Ridge $10,000 worth of instruments; including a drum kit, saxophone, recorders and ukuleles.

However, Hart didn’t stop there. He treated the students to two performances, playing both “Sonny’s Dream” by Ron Hynes and his classic hit “Never Surrender.”
He also did a brief question and answer period with some students.
