“Any other organization on planet Earth would collapse” under the pressure faced by the employees and management team of Nalcor when it comes to the Muskrat Falls Project.
That’s according to the Chair of Nalcor’s Board of Directors who told the Muskrat Falls inquiry this morning that the stress on Nalcor has been “extreme” and is showing.
Brendan Paddock told Peter Ralph, Council for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador that the pressure and public scrutiny has been relentless.
He outlined the many areas of pressure; including the E&Y oversight process, the Muskrat Falls Oversight Committee, the PUB reference question, the Grant Thornton forensic audit, the spinout of a major subsidiary of Oil and Gas, discussion of the sale of a significant portion of the transmission assets, and the public inquiry.
In addition, Paddock says there is the Newfoundland Hydro GRA with 3,000 requests for information and 320 ATIPP requests. He says it’s the same people answering the same questions and any other organization would collapse under the pressure.
