Highway crews are switching gears in parts of the island in preparation for a late-season snowstorm, but the minister says snowclearing may not be as fast as what they provide in winter.
The snow will stretch from Terra Nova Park to Deer Lake with the Terra Nova region in for about 25 cm., Gander/Grand Falls-Windsor about 20 and Deer Lake under 10 cm. PAL Airlines and Aerospace meteorologist Brian Walsh says the Glovertown area could see upwards of 40 cm.
The south coast, Clarenville and the Avalon will get heavy rain.
Transportation and Works Minister Steve Crocker says all their depots were in summer mode but crews will be ready to go tonight if needed, and will be back on the road tomorrow at 5:00 a.m..
The minister asks for patience tomorrow, and says with the fewer number of depots, it will take a bit longer to provide service.
