Spring bear licenses are being sent out this week, as previously announced by the provincial government.

President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Hunters and Anglers, Joe Pennell, says that members are pleased with the timely manner that licenses are being dispersed.

May 1st is the set release time and according to Pennell, some hunters are receiving them early. He says this is not something that they were expecting after many years of delays.

He says that people seem excited about the extra time.

There has been a lot of anticipation to receive their licenses.
