Residents of the Conception Bay north shore are responding with excitement and relief to news that Cabot Academy – destroyed in last year’s wildfires – will be rebuilt.
The province yesterday announced that the Western Bay school will be replaced, with construction set to begin next year.
Remediation and site preparation will begin once the snow clears.
All the details – such as timelines, building size and cost – have yet to be determined by government.
Most of the students are attending classes at Tricon Academy in Bay de Verde, others are at Persalvic in Victoria and Carbonear Academy.
