A recent visit to Newfoundland by Consignor Canadian Fine Art will help a local group with its ecological and educational programs.
“Bonfire” by the late Mary Pratt had hung above the fireplace at the Fluvarium, but in recent years had been boxed up. The estimated value of the colourful work is between $8,000 and $12,000.
The Fluvarium was looking for some much-needed funds to make up the difference after their main sponsor ended their relationship, leaving the Fluvarium short on funding for special programs.
The work will go up for auction at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto on Tuesday.
