One of the fastest growing municipalities in Canada is right here in Newfoundland and it’s planning for the future.
The Town of Paradise is in the midst of a three year strategic plan to address its young and growing population.
Road construction is underway, and Mayor Dan Bobbett says they have also recently adopted a ten year recreation master plan.
He says Paradise is ranked around 21st in the country in terms of growth and their looking at premium recreational program offerings and the appropriate facilities.
Meanwhile, work beginning today on the third phase of construction on Paradise Road is expected to take four months.
The work involves the section of road between Stormont Street and Archibald Drive and includes road widening, the installation of curbs and gutters, sidewalks and storm sewers.
Construction will occur between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
That’s in addition to ongoing work on Topsail Road and the McNamara Drive roundabout.
