The Executive Director of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association for Community Living says the province’s proposed accessibility legislation is a natural step forward.
The main focus of the Association is to promote inclusion in all aspects of our communities for persons with intellectual disabilities.
Hope Colbourne says the group was part of the engagement process for the new legislation this past winter. She says the new legislation is a continuation of what should come naturally.
She says this type of legislation “should just be”, and should be part of the natural way we look out for each other.
