The VOCM Cares Radiothon in support of Kin and Friends raised a whopping $95,000, on Sunday.
Proceeds from the radiothon will support mental health initiatives throughout the Burin Peninsula through the Burin Peninsula Healthcare Foundation.
VOCM’s Claudette Barnes hosted the event at the Marystown Town Council Building Sunday afternoon along with Marystown Mayor, Sam Synard and Gary Myles.
The radiothon focused on a number of health care projects ongoing at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, US Memorial (St. Lawrence), Placentia West Clinic (Boat Harbour) and Blue Crest Home (Grand Bank).
