Two people have been arrested after receiving a shipment of contraband cigarettes worth up to $150,000.
RCMP say on May 31 they arrested a 52-year-old woman from Dover and 51-year-old man from Hare Bay after they had picked up a shipment of contraband in Gander.
A search of the pickup they were driving revealed 24 cases, each containing 50 cartons of cigarettes, which RCMP say the pair were intending to sell in the Dover area.
Police say represents a loss of revenue to the province of between $120-$150,000.
