A 45-year-old St. John’s man sentenced to six-years in jail for having a three-year sexual affair with his stepdaughter has lost an appeal on his conviction.
The man was convicted in Supreme Court of sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation and sexual assault.
The facts say he engineered a relationship with the girl beginning when she was 15 involving all manners of sexual activity.
The man appealed the judge’s verdict on the basis that it could not be supported by the evidence.
The NL Court of Appeal, however, found the trial Judge’s decision was supported by the evidence, and that the verdict was not unreasonable.
The appeal was dismissed.
