This week the Vatican released a document rejecting the the idea that a person could choose or change gender.

But conflicts of faith are just one of the obstacles faced by trans youth and adults in the province and around the world.

Summer Brushett is a facilitator at the Trans Support NL group, which hosts between 15-25 trans youth and adults in St. John’s each month. She hears concerns regarding health care and acceptance more frequently, but the Vatican’s announcement is a major rejection for Christians who identify as trans.
