The Challenge Cup is finishing up today in St. Lawrence.
The first day of action was an eventful one as the day’s first match between Fieldians and Holy Cross took penalty kicks to decide a winner after the game was a draw at the end of regulation.
Fieldians went on to win the game with a final score of 3-2 to advance to today’s final.
The second game of the day between CBS and St. Lawrence was a close one for the first bit before the Laurentians started to pull away. They went on to win the game 2-1.
Holy Cross defeated St. Lawrence yesterday afternoon 2-0. Both goals came from Kyle Williams who also scored the goal that sent the first game into overtime on Friday.
Winning today’s game will bring Holy Cross up to 20 provincial titles. The Fieldians have not won the championships since 1969 so a win today would allow them to re-write history.
The game between the Holy Cross and Fieldians gets underway at 1 p.m.
