The province’s offshore regulator has ordered Suncor to put a fall protection system in place following an incident on board the Terra Nova FPSO December 29th.
A worker was injured after falling from a ladder while conducting gas testing.
The worker was transported to hospital by medevac for treatment.
The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board has ordered the operator to ensure that a fall protection system is in place for all vertical ladders greater than six meters that are not fitted with a protective cage at or near the FPSO.
The C-NLOPB’s review into the incident continues, including a follow up by Safety Officers who are currently on board the Terra Nova FPSO.
