The suds will be flowing at the movies. St. John’s City Council has approved by a vote of 9-2 a proposal from Cineplex to open a lounge at the Scotiabank Theatre at the Avalon Mall.

Deputy Mayor Sheilagh O’Leary and Councillor Wally Collins were the only two to vote against.

There will be a limit of two per customer, a similar restriction used at sporting events at Mile One, and only beer and wine will be sold.

Cineplex will now have to obtain the necessary approvals from provincial authorities, including the NLC.
