Canada Post has downgraded several service alerts across the island, resuming mail delivery in areas affected by treacherous weather conditions.
Work was halted yesterday in Eastern Newfoundland due to extremely icy conditions, while snow and high wind in Corner Brook also put things on pause.
A spokesperson says conditions remain hazardous in Eastern Newfoundland, so employees have been advised to use extreme caution.
Canada Post says slips and falls remain the leading cause of injury for post workers. Ultimately, they are responsible to decide whether it is safe to deliver the mail.
In the meantime, Canada Post is encouraging residents to clear their property to allow full service to resume.
