A public lecture and panel discussion on the experience of racial justice and injustice in the academic world will be the focus of a Memorial University event planned as part of Black History Month.
University of Alberta’s Dr. Malinda Smith, a renowned scholar on equity, diversity and inclusion in the academy will deliver the public lecture.
It will also feature a panel discussion with Dr. Paul Banahene Adjei, Dr. Sulaimon Giwa and Dr. Delores Mullings of MUN’s School of Social Work.
Dr. Smith’s lecture titled Nuances of Blackness in the Academy will explore the complexities, nuance and richness of Black scholarship across Canada.
The event gets underway at MUN’s Physical Education building in PE-2001 at 6:30 on Tuesday, February 25th.
