Talks have broken off between the St. John’s Transportation Commission and Metrobus drivers and maintenance staff.
Paul Churchill of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1462 says they were looking for similar benefits as those enjoyed by other staff and members of council.
About 130 unionized workers are involved.
Their contract expired last year. The dispute now goes to conciliation in a couple of weeks.
The last time Metrobus was on strike was 2010.
