Two women have been arrested and charged after police say they were caught in possession of cocaine while parked in the Salvation Army parking lot in Carbonear.
Harbour Grace RCMP received a call about a suspicious vehicle parked at the church around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Police found two women inside with the engine running.
The driver, a 27-year-old woman originally from Victoria, was suspected to be impaired by drug and was arrested.
The passenger, a 37-year-old Carbonear woman was also taken into custody. Both women now face charges of possession of cocaine.
Police are awaiting the results of testing to determine if the driver will face an additional charge of impaired by drug.
The accused were released from custody and are schedule to appear in court in April.
