The province’s new 2020-21 hunting and trapping guide is out and it includes a number of changes.
Successful big game hunters will be required to submit the lower jawbone of a moose or caribou. Jawbone tags will go out with licences and drop boxes will be established at Fisheries and Land Resources offices throughout the province.
Black bear licences in Labrador can be purchased online starting this fall. Black bear licences will no longer be sold through vendors in Labrador.
The province is also launching an online public consultation process to get feedback as part of a review underway into hunter regulations.
Among the topics of discussion are allowing the use of crossbows, and alignment of moose season starting dates on the island.
