A meeting is scheduled in the coming week with the Medical Association to sort out some of the finer details related to private clinics offering cataract surgery.
Health Minister John Haggie says money was allocated for reimbursement in the last budget but government is still waiting on information from the NLMA.
The document he needs has been with the Medical Association for some time. He says they’ve been discussing some of the finer points surrounding safety and insurance issues, and once that is sorted out, Haggie says “we’re good to go.”
