Wednesday’s rain made for some slick conditions this morning, but just as you think we’re getting a break from the weather, another system is on the way.
The Burin Peninsula saw the most rain with 27.8 mm, next Bay Roberts with 25 mm, St. John’s west reported 20 mm, and the airport 17 mm.
Mike VandenBerg, meteorologist with Environment Canada, says a system is on the way for early Saturday evening.
He says it’s going to be primarily a snow event so keep the shovel handy. Right now it looks like 10 to 15 centimetres for the Avalon and closer to 5 to 10 centimetres for the rest of the northeast coast of Newfoundland, but those numbers could change as we are a few days out.
Sunday morning will see fairly strong northerlies that will bring flurries to most of the island and cause blowing snow.
