Nalcor is setting plans in motion to pause operations at the Muskrat Falls site.
The initial plan is to do so for a period of one month. About 500 people are currently working at the site with 350 in camp.
Precautionary measures have already been set in motion, and Nalcor indicates there are no reported cases of COVID-19 at the site.
Nalcor is working with unions and contractors to demobilize the workforce.
The project is about 99 per cent complete but they’re having problems with the software required to deliver the power to the Avalon Peninsula.
