High school students preparing for post-secondary are jittery about the situation, but the school board is trying to work through it so that no student is negatively affected by the shutdown.
Final marks are the main prerequisite for entry to post-secondary, but the director of the English School District says whereas the pandemic is a global event, such institutions are saying that they will be flexible.
English School District Director of Education, Tony Stack says just because school is out, that doesn’t mean learning stops. There have been meetings with Memorial University and they are committed to being flexible, but what that looks like is difficult to tell at this point says Stack.
All students K-9 will automatically proceed to the next grade.
