The St. John’s Board of Trade is calling on the City of St. John’s to defer residential and business taxes.
The board says that will help to give businesses and residents a chance to catch up and recover from the economic damage.
Chair Andrew Wadden has reached out to Mayor Danny Breen, letting him know that some have yet to recover from the State of Emergency in January. He says they need all three levels of government to help.
Council’s regular weekly meeting was scheduled for tonight but that has been postponed.
