A dozen first responders are being taken out of the system after possible exposure stemming from an ambulance call.
Ray Verge, a volunteer firefighter in Harbour Grace, says two teams of paramedics and eight firefighters may have been exposed. Two ambulance services and the Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Department were involved in the call.
Verge says it’s important that people calling an ambulance disclose all pertinent information and answer questions accurately. Otherwise, they risk crippling essential services.
He says he’s not speaking for Fewer’s, Broughton’s or the Harbour Grace Fire Department, but he urges everyone to be up front when calling a first responder.
