Premier Dwight Ball says there will be federal financial assistance for those who work out of the province, but not from a provincial level.
The Premier says the support for those who work away whether it be Alberta, in the north, on the Great Lakes, or elsewhere would be through the federal programs – which is consistent with other provinces.
Ball says you can find that information on government’s website.
The Premier says if you work away and make the decision to stay in Newfoundland and Labrador federal programs will be available shortly, and applications can be filled in as of April 6th.
He says there are no provincial programs to support Alberta workers or those working outside of the province.
