Premier Dwight Ball had some strong words for United States President Donald Trump on Sunday, stating that to say he was infuriated with the recent actions of the President, would be an understatement.
Premier Ball says one of the great lessons of humanity is that in a time of crisis, you don’t stop being human.
In 2001, the province stepped up in the biggest way possible when the United States was in crisis after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Newfoundland and Labrador accepted with open arms thousands of people from around the world with no questions asked. Ball says today we are no different.
In recent days, President Trump has requested that a manufacturer stop exporting N95 face masks to Canada.

Ball says he cannot believe for a second that in a time of crisis, President Trump would even think about holding back key medical supplies to Canada.
He says Newfoundland and Labrador will never give up on humanity, and if we had to repeat what we did on 9/11, we’d do it again.
The Premier says this a time when people need to work together to continue to protect residents and keep them safe from COVID-19, no matter where they live or what passport they hold.
As leader of the province, Ball says he is very proud.
