After nearly two years, one of the more controversial traffic projects in the capital city is coming to an end.
The pilot project at Rawlins Cross which saw the intersection converted into a roundabout has come to an end.
As of Friday morning, all the remaining infrastructure in the area will be removed and the lights will be back up and running.
That means some other changes that pedestrians and area drivers have become used to, including the removal of the yield sign at the top of Prescott Street—meaning drivers entering Rawlins Cross from Monkstown Road have the right of way.
The temporary crosswalk at Monkstown Road near Rennies Mill Road will also be removed.
By approximately 8am Friday, May 15, the City will re-activate the traffic control signals at Rawlins Cross and remove the remaining infrastructure that is currently in place for the pilot project.
