The provincial government says as of Wednesday, there are now approximately 178 health care staff in self-isolation.
Last week, government said some 207 healthcare workers from the Health Sciences Centre were self-isolating after being identified as contacts of a patient who tested positive for the virus on May 4, 2020.
The Department of Health and Community Services says of the 178 in self-isolation, 10 people are availing of temporary accommodations in hotels, at a rate of $101 per person, per day.
The provincial government has said previously that those who need to self-isolate in hotels away from their families are permitted to do so, and the cost will be covered by government.
