There’s a new twist to the investigation of a multi-vehicle crash on Topsail Road May 11th that claimed two lives.

Chad Pitcher, who was sitting at the lights at Hamlyn Road on his motorcycle, was struck by a moving vehicle. Both Pitcher and the driver of the other vehicle were killed in the collision, which involved six vehicles in total.

The Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) was called in to investigate the RNC’s role, and was then asked by the RNC to conduct a secondary investigation regarding members of the public coming into possession of a video provided to the RNC.

SIRT director Mike King says they have asked the RCMP to do the investigation into the video component, and RCMP will be assigned a separate investigating team.
