The Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador will hear an application to challenge the provincial government’s travel ban.
The case will be heard on Tuesday, May 26.
The provincial government has imposed a travel ban to prevent COVID-19 from entering the province.
Certain exceptions are being made on compassionate grounds, but those requests must be considered and approved by Public Health officials.
Kim Taylor was recently denied entry into the province to attend her mother’s funeral, prompting the challenge.
The Canadian Civil Liberties Association says there is no evidence that imposing such restrictions on people is necessary, and the Canadian Bar Association-NL has raised similar concerns.
