St. John’s experienced its largest one-hour temperature drop in more than two years yesterday evening.
According to Environment Canada, between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., the temperature fell from 13.3 to 3.8.

The last time this happened was on May 9, 2018.
The winds were from the southwest during the day but then abruptly switched around to the northwest late in the afternoon, causing the temperature to plummet.
