Fire crews made quick work of a small brush fire in Kenmount Terrace this afternoon.
Captain Horvath of St. John’s Regional says crews were called to the scene of a brush fire in a small field behind some houses on Marsland Place just before 12:30 p.m..
Captain Horvath says it’s the time of year for brush fires.
One resident says they were lucky to have caught the small blaze when they did or it could’ve been much worse.

He says when they arrived there was dried grass in the area on fire near the woods. The small blaze was knocked down quickly without incident.
Residents in the area say two ATV’s had passed through the area just minutes before and the fire could’ve been much worse if they didn’t catch it when they did.
Captain Horvath reminds people that it is the time of year in which brush fires are more prominent.
There were no injuries.
