Music has always been a passion for a grade 11 student at Dunne Academy in St. Mary’s, but since the pandemic it has become her life so she decided to submit something to The Rooms.
Katie Burke of St. Mary’s says when her social studies teacher talked to her class about submitting a COVID-19 oral history project to The Rooms, she knew she was going to enter an original song.
Burke says people in her community were spreading happiness and making people smile so she decided to write about it.
She says there is a lot of sadness in the world right now and it is a hard time for people. Burke explains that she had lyrics flowing and her guitar so she told herself there was no harm in putting them together – especially for the people who need it right now.
Hey there, NL, how's your bubble? @hfnlca wants to know! We're working on an oral history project about #COVID19 and would love your memories for a future project in collaboration with @TheRooms_NL. You can take part online, here: https://t.co/ZWf6AFcifE
