Trades NL is seeking financial assistance for those in the construction industry who have run out of work due to COVID-19.
Some projects have ground to a halt while other major projects have been deferred or cancelled.
Executive Director of Trades NL, Darin King says the provincial government can help with stimulus infrastructure projects like construction of the new prison or mental health facility.

He’d also like to see financial assistance for members who are running out of work.
He says their short-term priority is to make sure that regulations are modified so workers can qualify for some form of employment insurance. In the long term they need help from the provincial and federal governments to get projects going and get the economy running.
