A 70-year-old has been remanded to custody pending a court appearance tomorrow after an unusual flight from police Wednesday.
RCMP attempted to pull the man over after patrol officers observed him operating a vehicle, despite being prohibited from driving.
RCMP say the suspect would not pull over and instead sped away onto the Trans-Canada, cutting off other vehicles.
Police did not pursue the vehicle, but located the driver a few hours later at a trailer off the Argentia Access Road near Dunville.
He was arrested and charged with driving while prohibited, flight from police, dangerous driving, and failing to comply with a probation order. The vehicle he was driving was seized and impounded.
