The provincial government will step up its “return to the office” mode starting Thursday as Newfoundland and Labrador moves to Alert Level two.
Government says the notice will provide time for workers to arrange for child care. Employees will be contacted by their supervisor to discuss the transition and to make plans for their return.
Online and telephone access to services by the general public is still preferred with urgent in-person matters by appointment only.
Health and safety guidelines are in place, according to the Finance and Human Resource Secretariat, to ensure that public service employees have access to a safe workplace, and the public has safe access to programs and services.
Many in the public service began transitioning on June 8 from working from home to going to the office.
