It’s the first in what’s expected to be a number of community funding announcements over the coming weeks.
An annex connected to the existing Hodder Memorial Recreation Complex in Deer Lake will be built thanks to joint funding from the federal, provincial and municipal governments announced today.
The annex will include a gym with a walking track, in addition to meeting spaces and facilities for sports like basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer.
Outgoing premier Dwight Ball was joined by his brother, Mayor Dean Ball and MP Gudie Hutchings for this morning’s announcement.
The provincial government says more project announcements are coming this summer across the province.
