The capital city is accepting applications from those interested in operating a mobile-vending unit from a designated site on Bannerman Road close to the park’s pool house.
The license will be for the sale of food and non-alcoholic refreshments only.
Councilor Sandy Hickman says it’s all about bringing more life to the park in what’s been a difficult time.
The vendor will be chosen by a random draw and will have to provide their own electrical service. Once the infrastructure is in place, the vendor will have the first call on future seasons.
The deadline for applications is the end of next week.
The city also expects to issue expressions of interest for the take over of the kiosk next to the Loop, once operated by Beaver Tails, but that might not be until late summer, says Councilor Hickman.
