A 53-year-old man has a future date with a judge after he was nabbed for impaired driving in the capital city last night.

Police were called to the center city area around 7 p.m. to reports of a hit and run.

Officers located the suspect a short while later at a nearby residence and charged him with impaired and other offences under the highway traffic act.

He was released to appear in court at a later date.
