A single mother recently tried to cross the picket line at a Dominion store in an attempt to purchase formula for her newborn baby, however, she was met with ridicule from picketing workers.
Miranda Lynch says she has never crossed a picket line in her life but was left with no choice as she has no car and walked with her three kids to the Blackmarsh road location near her home.
Lynch says she was taken aback when she was ridiculed by an employee.
She says she was on the phone with her mom saying she didn’t know what she was going to do as she couldn’t get any formula. Lynch says a worker then laughed at her even after she explained her situation. She says as a single parent things are hard enough as it is, it’s not right to be ignorant and belittle someone who is just trying to feed her child.
Lynch said she was humiliated by the confrontation and believes people could be a bit more understanding of people’s situations. She says despite the incident she still supports the employees and hopes they get what they are asking for.
