Government and school boards have come up with a format that will allow parents of kindergarten children in the schools.
The original back-to-school plan by the Eastern School District did not allow parents entry into the school, but Education Minister Tom Osborne says that issue has now been resolved.
He first hinted that a solution was in the offing during Wednesday’s COVID-19 update, and has confirmed for VOCM News that school administrators have been informed that parents of kindergarten-age children can go into the school.
Many parents were upset at the thought of not accompanying their young children into the school, especially in the first days.
Meanwhile, Minister Osborne expects to release details in the next day or two on measures to address the busing situation.
As it stands, some 7,000 children will be left off the bus because of COVID-19 restrictions.
