“Who steals a weather station?”
That is local weather enthusiast Kelly Butt’s main question when he describes the weather station that was stolen from his yard overnight on Saturday.
Butt says someone backed up to his fence, jumped the fence, and loaded the bolted down eight-foot weather station into it before driving off.
He says he woke up on Sunday to take a look at the forecast and it was gone.
The weather station was used to provide important weather information for the east end of St. John’s.
Butt says it is unfortunate. He says it is not like it was a BBQ, ATV, or a tool. Butt says he can count on one hand how many of the weather stations are in the city, and he knows of most of them. He is not sure why anyone would take it.
