NDP Leader Alison Coffin is calling on the provincial government to release its plan to diversify the economy and not have all its eggs in the same economic basket.
The suspension of construction on the West White Rose project in March left hundreds of jobs on hold, and Coffin says the government has done nothing to prepare for what the markets have been showing for years.
Now is the time says Coffin, for the government to release its economic transition plan that will see the province less disproportionately dependent on one source of revenue.
She says a healthy budget draws from multiple sources so the collapse of one source does not put the entire financial future of the province into question.
