A single lane of the Trans-Canada Highway near Paddy’s Pond was closed this afternoon following a serious incident.
Reports to VOCM News indicate that a truck ran into catastrophic engine trouble just past Thomas Pond, spilling some 60 litres of oil onto the highway.
Highway crews responded to the scene closing one lane of traffic to conduct a cleanup.
Eastbound drivers are advised to expect slowdowns in the meantime.
