Flags at all provincial government buildings are flying at half-staff in honour of John Turner, a former Prime Minister and federal Finance Minister who passed away on Friday at the age of 91.
Turner served as Prime Minister for a brief time in 1984, but served in the Liberal caucus for decades under Prime Ministers Lester Pearson, Pierre Trudeau, and Jean Chretien.

He served as Opposition Leader in the House of Commons across from PC Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.
He was first elected to parliament in 1968, representing Ottawa-Carleton, and retired in 1993.
The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of his funeral – the date of which has not yet been set.
