While its future is not yet clear, the gas station in Rigolet will continue operating under the Rigolet Inuit Community Government on an interim basis.

The lone gas station faced uncertainty as the contract held by the current operator—the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies—was set to expire on Wednesday.

While they explore their options, Rigolet is working with the Nunatsiavut Government on a short-term arrangement to keep the station operating.

There may be a service interruption, but Rigolet says it will keep the gas station running until a permanent solution is found.
