The PC Opposition says the government should’ve held out for more money than the $320-million received from Ottawa to keep the province’s oil industry on life support.
Conception Bay South MHA Barry Petten said the sheer number of companies coming forward seeking a piece of the pie proves the province gave in too easily.
Energy Minister Andrew Parsons, however, says the government and companies in play are happy with the amount, adding the Tories would’ve had it all spent by now.
He says they remind him of his six-year-old daughter at Toys R Us, saying they would’ve blown it all before they got past the first aisle.
