There’s another protest today outside the Clarenville courthouse as part of an ongoing public effort seeking justice for a local man who died this spring.
Lucas Lethbridge passed away from a drug overdose in April and since then his father Jeff and a group of supporters have led protests seeking greater action in addressing illegal drug activity in the area.
Lisa Dunne is a friend and supporter of Jeff Butt. She says her problem is that they left Lucas’ body for 18 hours before a call was made for medical help, so she would like to see them charged with criminal negligence.
Dunne says there is a drug problem in the Clarenville area that needs to be taken seriously by law enforcement and justice officials.
Today’s protest —the third since the summer— began at 9:00 a.m.
